We are in sequence for the final race of the 2009 melges 32 gold cup! Its still anyones race, and the wind hasnt lightened up. Its blowing a steady 18 out here, with the occasional gust of 20.

Update: the course is actually pretty square. Everyone is converging at the winward mark. Here is the order at the windward mark:

Hull numbers: 14, 7, 9, 20, 2, 22, 17, 11, 18, 5, 19, 1, 3, 13, 6…..

Update 11:33!!!!

Huge right shift!!!! This just mixed everything up! I took video of the leward mark rounding. Pure chaos!

Huge gust came roaring down the course that last downwind. Race finish was too close to call. A few boat broached near the finish line.

Race 6 is about to get underway. Wind coming out of the north at about 10 knots…clouds are are starting to role in, and we may be in for some rain! Again! Wind is forcasted to pick up throughout the day.
